"Ilsa" was a movie that caught me off guard when I first watched it and left me feeling kinda numb for awhile.

I will say though that I really Franco's illegitimate "Ilsa" film (Greta the Butcher, etc) if only because Linay Romay was so cute back then - which makes the "lick my culo" scene so enjoyable.Alex Jowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11737798466816750685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-61051414952990060842012-04-27T15:23:44.848-07:002012-04-27T15:23:44.848-07:00I agree that War in Space is inferior to Message F...I agree that War in Space is inferior to Message From Space, but I still like it. Then again I can enjoy almost any SW ripoff/space opera film, even the super cheap Italian ones. :)Fazeohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15120431679290048715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-49963106805350397592012-04-26T18:08:20.374-07:002012-04-26T18:08:20.374-07:00@ Faz: I guess the SW clones (haha) were too expen...@ Faz: I guess the SW clones (haha) were too expensive to mount to expect much in the way of a return especially if it didn't do well.

@ Fran: WAR IN SPACE is really bad, Fran. The only cool part is the horned Chewbacca creature who doesnt get a whole lot of screen time. It looks like a feature length TV show, to me. The miniature work and explosions outclass WAR IN SPACE, imo. WAR is worth a watch, just lower your expectations.venoms5https://www.blogger.com/profile/13655919099947763891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-54178018948663037352012-04-26T17:15:24.386-07:002012-04-26T17:15:24.386-07:00I started watching Message from Space, it's pr...I started watching Message from Space, it's pretty 70's with characters wearing bell bottoms and everything, but I saw this chase sequence through a canyon between two space ships that was pretty cool, kind of reminded me a bit of Episode one and its famous pod race. Thanks for the heads up on WAR IN SPACE, I'll try and check that one out as well.

Agree about Street Fighter, there are moments in there where you just feel like your watching an awesome movie, like those last scenes with Chiba drenched in the rain as he is about to kick some villains ass in the finale, cool stuffFranco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-7125220854230415142012-04-26T15:12:40.624-07:002012-04-26T15:12:40.624-07:00I have always loved Message From Space. I actually wished there were more Star Wars ripoffs made in the late 70s and early 80s.Fazeohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15120431679290048715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-23530017040204697782012-04-25T10:47:34.408-07:002012-04-25T10:47:34.408-07:00STREET FIGHTER rocks, Fran! I do wish we could more of his TV shows over here legally like his wildly popular spy action series KEY HUNTER, which is what really put him on the map.

Chiba was supposed to have done a movie with Bruce Lee, but he died before it could happen. Chiba did two co-pro's with Chinese film companies; one was an adaptation of the anime GOLGO 13 and the other was one of the nuttiest, the worst Chiba movies ever. It was released as SOUL OF BRUCE LEE, SOUL OF CHIBA, but WAY OF THE EVIL FIST was the translated Japanese title.

EATEN ALIVE I grew to like better with the recent DVDs of it, particularly the extras packed Dark Sky 2 disc set.

MESSAGE FROM SPACE is pretty wild, Fran. It's WAAAYYYYY better than Toho's STAR WARS knock off from the same year called WAR IN SPACE.venoms5https://www.blogger.com/profile/13655919099947763891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-61029083878858548062012-04-25T06:38:57.343-07:002012-04-25T06:38:57.343-07:00Always loved Street Fighter. But as you say, its CHIBA's intensity that sells this film. I guess he was trying to chanell or portray a bit of that Bruce Lee intensity, but in his own crazy way. I need to see Champion of Death, I saw that one in theaters as a kid, my dad was nuts!

Eaten Alive, now there's an underrated film. It's really crazy, and similar in some ways to Texas Chainsaw. I can't understand anything that the villain says, but that makes all the crazier.

Message from Space...this is the Japanese's answer to Star Wars? I need to see this one as soon as possible! I loved Star Crash, which was the Italians answer to Staw Wars...so I'm looking forward to Message from Space, thankfully its on Netflix!Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.com
