I think I like FROM BEYOND a little better than RE-ANIMATOR, I'd say it's at least more ambitious.

I passed on the PIT & PENDULUM DVD as I had read at one time an uncut version was coming, but apparently it didn't surface, at least not here. I liked it a lot when it first came out on VHS tape.venoms5https://www.blogger.com/profile/13655919099947763891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-51570548504609917272011-03-09T07:07:50.345-08:002011-03-09T07:07:50.345-08:00Ah yes, the eternal battle between From Beyond and...Ah yes, the eternal battle between From Beyond and Re-Animator. I've always favored From Beyond, I dont know what it is but I find it to be a better film.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE RE-Animator, but From Beyond has another level of perversity and gruesomeness, it took things a bit further. Plus, I just LOVE that idea about traveling through dimensions and all that. The dvd is loaded with so many extras! And those deleted scenes of gore on the new cut are nothing short of amazing!

I'm a Gordon enthusiast, I love most of his films and have watched them all. I truly appreciate his diedication to the horror genre and to LOVEcraft.

Robot JOx was an interesting attempt at sci-fi, but it was made right smack in the middle of the company going belly up...so it didnt turn out exactly the way they had hoped, still, its a fun flick. Fortress was superior sci-fi, and feels more complete.

Im dying to get Gordon's Pit and the Pendulum on dvd, but Charles Band only sells it in a box set with other films I laready have. I really enjoyed that one, a real Stuart Gordon gem that hasnt ever gotten a proper dvd release.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.com
