Game of Death is the one where he wears that yellow suit and battles Kareem Abdul Jabbar. that one sucked because for most of the film, it's some Bruce Lee double playing him, until the very end where Lee finally shows up.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-10277838146165751422011-10-06T15:47:02.434-07:002011-10-06T15:47:02.434-07:00@ Ty: Thanks again, Ty! I do hope you enjoy things here and feel free to criticize where you see fit!

@ Fran: You mean TOWER OF DEATH aka GAME OF DEATH 2 with Kim Tai Chung and Hwang Jang Lee? The one where they had Bruce falling off of a helicopter or something like that? I have it, but Bruce Lee never shot any footage for that one. He only did four completed movies and he was only in a small portion of GAME OF DEATH before he died. Apparently, there's tons of outtakes and lots of film unused for it. His scenes in TOWER OF DEATH are made up of unused footage from his other movies.

There was a book that came out recently in the UK called HERE COMES THE BRUCE LEE CLONES (I think was the name of it). Those movies are really popular with a small contingent of fans. I used to own a lot of them even though I really didn't like those at all. Now they're fun to watch strictly for laughs as that's pretty much all they have to offer, at least to me, but those movies do have a very loyal following.venoms5https://www.blogger.com/profile/13655919099947763891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-36474758334860111222011-10-06T09:51:36.114-07:002011-10-06T09:51:36.114-07:00The only one of these 'Bruceploitation' fi...The only one of these 'Bruceploitation' films I've seen was Game of Death II, for most of the film they had this guy playing Bruce Lee, I mean, you could tell he didnt have that Bruce Lee intense electricity to him, thankfully, Bruce Lee does appear in the films last few minutes, because they were the only scenes he had actually filmed, and that was enjoyable. I mean as soon as Lee appears, suddenly you feel that unique Bruce Lee vibrance.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-37672115082653697362011-10-05T20:19:31.534-07:002011-10-05T20:19:31.534-07:00Your welcome! Some of the guys playing the Bruce characters were honestly talented, but got mired down in those kinds of movies. Bruce Le seemed to embrace them. Bruce Li, one of the most popular, was able to do some movies where he wasn't playing Bruce Lee, or a guy doing Lee's mannerisms.

@ Ty: It's definitely ridiculous and fun, Ty! Countless Fu flicks feature a 'Finger Style' of one sort or another.

The only "finger techniques" I know of that some of these like the 'Buddha Finger' featured in SHAOLIN VS. LAMA (1983) are likely deriving inspiration from are either the Eagle Claw, the Crane style or most lethally the Wing Chun style. The latter was famously practiced and demonstrated by Bruce Lee.

The style is notable for doing severe damage from a couple inches away from an intended target. Chang Cheh showcased it spectacularly in his classic and trendsetting SHAOLIN MARTIAL ARTS (1974) wherein Chi Kuan Chun used it to gruesome effect.

The Crane style of course has been used to remove victims eyeballs in dozens of other movies. The 'Finger Style' seen here is from footage borrowed from Joseph Kong's own BRUCE'S DEADLY FINGERS. Lo Lieh gets a taste of it. Through the bulk of the film--the footage that makes up the BRONZEMEN cut--Bruce Le simply does his Lee-alike shtick.

This DVD is well worth picking up, Sam. The first feature on the disc, THE GODFATHER SQUAD, is also one helluva hoot.venoms5https://www.blogger.com/profile/13655919099947763891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467807781586384838.post-21157191968275708992011-10-03T20:12:13.763-07:002011-10-03T20:12:13.763-07:00Brucesploitation fascinates me and this one looks ...Brucesploitation fascinates me and this one looks like a prime example.
